Overview

Two weeks in Egypt gives you what a five-day dash cannot: the chance to actually understand this place. You will see the Pyramids, yes, but you will also sit in a felucca on the Nile at sunset, eat breakfast at a local cafe in Aswan where no tourists go, and spend real time at sites like Luxor Temple where our guides grew up walking past the colonnades as schoolchildren.

This itinerary moves at a human pace. Cairo gets three days, not three hours. We spend two full days in Luxor with separate morning visits to the Valley of the Kings and afternoon explorations of Karnak that most tour operators compress into a single exhausting drive. You will float the Nile on a traditional felucca, not just look at it from a coach window. In Aswan, you visit Philae Temple by boat and understand the actual geography of Upper Egypt instead of treating it like a checkbox.

Our guides are Egyptologists from the regions you visit. The Luxor guide grew up in that city and knows the quiet temples the tour buses never reach. The Cairo guide has family near the pyramids and navigates the back streets of Khan el-Khalili bazaar with genuine authority, not a script. We use private 12-seater Mercedes vans for your group, and your guide handles all tickets and queuing so you spend time looking, not waiting.

Temperatures vary by season: Cairo is pleasant year-round, but Upper Egypt in summer can exceed 45°C, so we time early activities for dawn. We build in proper rest days. After a dawn visit to the Valley of the Kings, you have the afternoon free in Luxor to swim, nap, or explore on your own. We include the domestic flight from Cairo to Aswan, so you bypass the grueling drive and arrive fresh.

Two weeks is the right amount of time to feel less like a tourist and more like someone who has genuinely visited Egypt.

FAQs

What is included in the $2,700 per person price for 14 Days Holidays in Egypt?

The comprehensive price includes 3-4 star hotel accommodations in Cairo (3 nights) and onboard 5-star Nile cruise ship (8 nights), all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) at hotels and ship, all internal flights between Cairo and Luxor, guided tours at all major temples and attractions, entrance fees to museums and archaeological sites, professional Egyptologist guides, and transportation between hotels and sightseeing locations. Travel insurance and international flights are not included but can be arranged through our travel partners at additional cost.

What Nile cruise ship standard and amenities can I expect during the 14-day Egypt holiday?

The package includes 5-star Nile cruise ships featuring spacious cabins with private bathrooms, air-conditioning, television, and views. Common areas include dining rooms serving international and Egyptian cuisine, lounge areas with entertainment, sun deck with swimming pool, spa facilities, and typically a library or internet area. Evening entertainment features traditional music, dance, and cultural performances. Cabins have daily housekeeping service. The cruise ship is comfortable and suitable for extended river travel, though some nights are spent in Cairo hotels rather than exclusively on the ship.

How much of the 14-day Egypt tour is spent actually sightseeing versus travel time?

Approximately 10-11 days feature active sightseeing and cultural activities, with 3-4 days allocated for travel, transitions between locations, and rest days. The extended itinerary allows unhurried exploration, with afternoons typically free for rest, swimming, or optional activities. Egypt distances are significant; travel between Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan requires flight time and road transportation. The 14-day duration ensures you do not feel rushed, allowing deep engagement with each location. Many travelers value this pace for comfortable, thorough exploration.

Are there optional activities or excursions beyond the standard 14-day itinerary?

Yes, most 14-day Egypt holiday packages offer optional activities including desert safaris, hot air balloon rides over Luxor, felucca sailboat excursions, cooking classes, local market tours, and visits to lesser-known archaeological sites. Optional activities carry additional costs, typically $30-150 per activity. Your tour coordinator provides information about available options when you book your 14-day Egypt holiday online. Some options are booked in advance; others are arranged during the tour based on your interests and preferences.

What is the best time of year to book the 14 Days Holidays in Egypt package?

October through April offers ideal temperatures ranging 20-28 degrees Celsius, making outdoor sightseeing comfortable. May through September brings extreme heat, sometimes exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, making extended outdoor activities uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. Most travelers prefer winter months for Egypt tours. The Nile cruise operates year-round but with seasonal water level variations. Book well in advance for October through December departures as availability is limited. January through April offers slightly lower prices than peak November-December season.

Can I customize the 14-day Egypt itinerary based on my interests or abilities?

Yes, the 14-day package offers flexibility for customization. Discuss your preferences and any physical limitations with your tour coordinator when booking. Interests such as photography, Coptic Christianity, Islamic Cairo, or specific temples can be accommodated through guide selection or optional activity substitution. Physical limitations such as mobility concerns can be addressed with alternative sightseeing arrangements. Dietary requirements, language preferences, and travel pace can all be discussed. However, significant customizations may involve additional costs or require different package options. Communicate all preferences when booking your 14 Days Holidays in Egypt online.
