A guide to starting prices, based on our current tours.

Most of our private day tours cost between $40 and $140. As a rough guide:

Short outings of 1 to 3 hours, such as a felucca sail, a horse carriage ride or a Sound and Light Show: $40 to $65.
Half-day sightseeing, such as Luxor’s West Bank, Karnak or the medieval Cairo walk: $55 to $75.
Full-day sightseeing with lunch, such as the Pyramids with a museum, Abu Simbel or Edfu and Kom Ombo: $85 to $140.
Red Sea activities such as snorkelling, desert safaris and Bedouin dinners: $40 to $75.
Long day trips with a flight or a long drive, such as Luxor from Hurghada or Cairo from Sharm: $240 to $440.

The price of a private tour depends mostly on how many people share the car and guide, and on how long the day is. The hot air balloon over Luxor is $110, and the Sound and Light Shows are $50. For several days of sightseeing, a tour package usually works out better value than booking day tours one by one.
