Thirteen days that combine Egypt’s history with time on the Red Sea. After arriving in Cairo you visit the Giza Pyramids and spend a day in Alexandria, then travel to Aswan for a Nile cruise via Kom Ombo to Luxor. From Luxor you transfer to Hurghada for three days on the beach, then return to Cairo for a final day before your departure. Transfers, the cruise and guiding are arranged for you, from $1,700.
Your Egypt Day Tours representative meets you at Cairo airport with a name sign and helps you through immigration and customs, then takes you by private air-conditioned car to your hotel. After breakfast, at 8:00, you meet your private guide at the Giza Pyramids, the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. You stop at the panorama point for photos of all three, visit the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre, then tour the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Pyramids, home to the complete Tutankhamun collection, much of it on display for the first time, in galleries that take you through Egyptian history in order. After breakfast your guide drives you about three hours to Alexandria. You visit Pompey’s Pillar and the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina with its open court and museums, and the Citadel of Qaitbay on the site of the ancient Lighthouse, then drive along the corniche past the Eastern Harbour and Stanley Bridge to the royal gardens of Montazah and the palaces of King Farouk, Egypt’s last king, with stops at the Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi, the statue of Alexander the Great and the Unknown Soldier Memorial. In the morning you fly to Aswan, where your guide meets you for the High Dam, Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis and rebuilt on Agilkia Island after the dam was built, and the Unfinished Obelisk. You board your five-star Nile cruise in time for lunch. Overnight on board. Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Early in the morning the cruise reaches Kom Ombo, where you visit the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris. After lunch on board you sail to Edfu for the Temple of Horus, often with entertainment on board in the evening. Overnight on board. Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
After breakfast your guide takes you to the West Bank of Luxor for the Valley of the Kings, entering three royal tombs, then the Temple of Hatshepsut and a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, before returning to the boat for lunch. Overnight on board. Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
After breakfast you disembark and visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, then a private air-conditioned car takes you to your hotel in Hurghada. Overnight in Hurghada. Meals: breakfast and lunch.

After breakfast your representative takes you to Cairo airport and helps you through immigration and customs for your flight home. Meals: breakfast.
