Overview

Discover the timeless allure of Bedouin desert culture with our exclusive Bedouin Dinner Tour in Sharm El-Sheikh. This immersive evening experience transports you from the Red Sea coastline to the mystical Sinai desert, where traditional Bedouin communities preserve ancient ways of living that have endured for centuries. You’ll meet Bedouin families, ride camels under stars, and share an authentic dinner prepared over open flames while learning about their rich heritage and connection to the desert landscape.

The Bedouin people are stewards of the Sinai desert, master navigators who’ve thrived in one of Earth’s harshest environments through ingenuity, resilience, and deep cultural wisdom. Their traditions emphasize honor, family bonds, and respect for guests—concepts that make this experience far more than typical tourism. When you visit a Bedouin village, you’re not observing a staged performance; you’re engaging with a living culture that welcomes outsiders with genuine warmth and pride.

Your journey begins with an exciting 4×4 drive through the desert landscape surrounding Sharm. The terrain transforms from developed resort areas to pristine dunes where silence reigns supreme. Upon arrival at the Bedouin settlement, you’re immediately welcomed with traditional Arabic coffee and dates—the customary greeting that signifies respect and friendship in desert culture.

The camel ride is transformative. These remarkable animals, perfectly adapted to desert life, carry you across rolling dunes as the sun descends. The experience connects you to countless generations of traders, explorers, and Bedouin nomads who’ve relied on these “ships of the desert” to traverse the Sahara. As you sway gently atop your camel, watching the horizon transform with sunset colors, you understand why the desert holds such spiritual significance.

Dinner is a feast of sensory delights. Gathered around a blazing campfire, you’ll taste traditional Bedouin cuisine prepared using recipes passed down through generations. Grilled meats seasoned with local spices, fresh vegetables charred over open flames, and warm flatbread baked on hot stones create an unforgettable culinary experience. Under a canopy of stars—unpolluted by city lights—you’ll experience the magic that has drawn travelers to the desert for millennia.

FAQs

What's included in the $40 tour package?

The package includes: roundtrip hotel transfers via 4×4 vehicle, traditional Arabic coffee and dates welcome, camel ride (approximately 50 minutes), authentic Bedouin dinner with grilled meats and fresh vegetables, all non-alcoholic beverages (soft drinks, juices, traditional tea), live traditional music entertainment, and professional English-speaking guide. Professional photography services and souvenirs are additional charges.

Is this suitable for children and families?

Absolutely! This tour is family-friendly and suitable for children ages 5+. Kids love camel riding—handlers walk beside every camel ensuring safety. Families sit together for dinner. The evening schedule accommodates early bedtimes—you’re back at your hotel by 10:30 PM. Children can participate in all activities. We recommend bringing snacks for very young children in case they’re hungry before dinner begins. Inquire about special family discounts when booking.

What should I wear to stay comfortable?

Wear light, breathable clothing covering shoulders and knees (respectful of local custom). Layers are essential—desert days are hot (30-35°C/86-95°F), but evenings cool significantly (15-20°C/59-68°F). Bring a light jacket or fleece for the evening. Comfortable closed-toe shoes for camel riding; sneakers are ideal. Bring a shawl or scarf for wind protection. Sunglasses, sunscreen (SPF 50+), and a hat for sun protection. Consider bringing a small backpack for water bottles, camera, and personal items.

Are vegetarian and special dietary meals available?

Yes! We accommodate vegetarian diets with advance notice (24 hours requested). Vegetarian menu includes: grilled vegetables, fresh salads, hummus, tahini, local cheeses, and freshly baked Egyptian bread. All vegetarian options use quality ingredients and traditional preparation methods. Vegan options, allergies, and other dietary restrictions can be accommodated with early notification. Inform us when booking so we prepare appropriate meals.

What's the best season to experience this tour?

October through April offers ideal conditions: comfortable daytime temperatures (25-30°C/77-86°F) and pleasant evenings (15-20°C/59-68°F). May-September brings extreme desert heat (40°C+/104°F+), making daytime drives uncomfortable. December-February evenings are cool—bring extra layers. Winter (December-February) is peak season with higher demand—book 2-3 weeks ahead. We operate year-round, but shoulder seasons (October-November, March-April) provide the best balance of comfort and fewer crowds.

How physically demanding is the camel ride?

The camel ride is low-impact and suitable for most fitness levels, including seniors and those with mobility concerns. Camels have smooth, rhythmic gaits—less jolting than horses. You sit in a comfortable saddle with safety harnesses. Professional handlers walk beside your camel, controlling pace and direction. The 50-minute ride involves mounting and dismounting, which some may find challenging. If you have back, knee, or hip issues, notify us in advance—we can arrange alternative activities or shorter rides. Children as young as 5 successfully complete this ride.
