On the return journey stop at the Colossi of Memnon which are two gigantic sitting statues representing Amenopis III facing the Nile then visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Lunch on board. Your adventure begins the moment you land in Cairo, where your Egypt Day Tours rep will meet you at the airport and settle you into your hotel for the night. From there you’ll explore Cairo and Giza, fly to Aswan to start your Nile cruise, sail up to Luxor, relax in Hurghada for a few days, and fly back to Cairo for your final night before we see you off at the airport on day 10. It’s a private, fully guided journey from the first hello to the last goodbye.
You’ll spend three nights aboard a Nile cruise ship from Aswan to Luxor, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included each day. Along the way you’ll visit the High Dam and Philae Temple in Aswan, the Temple of Kom Ombo, the Temple of Horus in Edfu, and on the West Bank in Luxor the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. There’s even a Galabya party onboard on your second night, so pack something fun to wear.
You’ll have three nights in Hurghada after your Nile cruise wraps up, plenty of time to unwind by the Red Sea. Both full days are left free so you can relax at your own pace, and if you’d rather stay active we can arrange optional add-ons like a quad bike desert safari with a Bedouin village visit or a snorkeling trip out to Giftun Island, both at an extra cost.
Yes, day 2 is dedicated to exactly that. You’ll see the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, stand before the Great Sphinx, and visit the Valley Temple, before heading to the Grand Egyptian Museum near Giza to see its remarkable collection up close. It’s one of the highlights of the whole trip.
It isn’t included in the base price, but it’s available as an optional add-on for about $100 per person on the morning you disembark the cruise in Luxor. Floating over the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens and the Theban hills at sunrise is a beautiful way to end the cruise portion of your trip, so let us know if you’d like to add it when you book.
