Alexandria Culinary Tour
This is an opportunity to experience local food,culinary classes in the city. You will get to attend different classes and learn how Egyptian cooking happened. There are different cuisines that co exist in the region. Alexandrian , Farmers and the Beduin cuisine. Throughout this week, you will get to experience these cuisines as well as the local market experience. Moreover, experiencing local street food in different parts.

Breakfast - Lunch
After breaking your appetite with a fresh juice and a bite of bakery, your day will start with a traditional Egyptian breakfast served in a local home. This will be accompanied by some explanation of the ingredients used and the cooking steps. Get to know some information about the preparation of your lunch; you will be accompanied by your cooking instructor to the local market to buy the freshest ingredients for your meal from the vendors directly.
Feel free to interact with them, immerse yourself in the local experience. Upon your return to your accommodation,you will start your cooking class. Today you will get to cook your first Egyptian Meal. The Alexandrian cuisine is very diverse, and your instructor will help you cook some of the very traditional dishes that you will enjoy over lunch as well as over your light dinner.
After lunch, we will take the double Decker bus to downtown Alexandria and ride a traditional horse carriage along the seashore of Alexandria. Here we will be admiring the corniche street and the building surrounding it till we reach the Qaitbay Citadel. Afterwards, it will be time for a walk in the old Turkish complex with the market street until you reach Abu Elabass mosque, which is considered one of the remarkable architectural monuments in Alexandria with a Moorish style. Continue walking around. Back to your accommodation where your dinner will be already pre-set & cooked to be eaten at your convenience.

Enjoy a home cooked breakfast with diverse items, falafel, fava Beans, sesame and much more. Later, you will go by air conditioned vehicle to the Montazah Royal Gardens. This is where King Farouk, the last king in Egypt history, had his summer house. The garden itself has diverse flowers and plants and would offer you a great opportunity to spend some time walking through the gardens enjoying a unique surroundings designed and executed for kings & queens to enjoy.
Afterwards, move to visit Abuqir area. Abuqir is the furthest eastern point in Alexandria and was the location of the ancient city of Canopus. Abuqir bay witnessed the famous battle between Napoleon army and the British forces led by the famous Admiral Nelson. Lunch will be served in a restaurant overlooking the bay.
After lunch, spend time walking around the fishermen part in the harbor, enjoy watching them producing their nets and boats. Feel free to initiate a conversations with them and know more or even take part in their daily activities. Back to Alexandria downtown and head to “Malek El Saman Restaurant” (King of quails), this restaurant specializes in serving Pigeons and Quails grilled and/or stuffed & served in a traditional way. After dinner, continue on a night walking tour heading to the famous Bahari where we will enjoy a traditional dessert called “Om Ali” (the mother of Aly). There are many theories that are all back to medieval time on the reason this desert was given such a name but none of them is 100% confirmed. Yet, this will not thinned
how delicious this desert is. It consists of puff pastry, milk, coconut and various nuts and kernels.
A combination that results in a yummy end product. Back to your accommodation for Overnight.
Edku
Breakfast - Lunch
After breakfast, transfer by air-conditioned van heading to Edku Lake. This is a town located east of Alexandria and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was one of the ancient cities of the Pharaonic era; within the province of “Ra Amenati” where many ancient pharaonic cities have become uninhabited to be replaced. We will arrive early enough to witness the fishermen preparing their boats and getting ready to commence with their fishing expeditions. We will also
have a chance to observe the fish, the vegetables & fruits markets. It will be your chance to buy some fruits to enjoy over your dinner as well as experience a firsthand bargaining experience with the locals.
For Lunch, we will move by vehicle to a countryside farm. Here you will have a traditional countryside meal in a farm. Join the farmers while preparing the food and help them in chopping & seasoning the ingredients. While the slow cooking food is prepared, feel free to wander around and take photos of the fields. You can also help preparing and baking the fresh bread.
After some rest, we will move to our final visit in the day to the bees keeper farm part. In this visit, you will learn about the bees, how they gather the honey and create the beeswax.
Back to your accommodation where you will enjoy the fish you bought from the market and prepared by your cook instructor. Desert will be the fruits you also bought yourself early morning.

Save your appetite for later by just having some fresh juice and a lite bite. Checkout from the accommodation and had to Al Manshia , El Manshia originated as the place de consuls in 1834. It hosts the statue of Mohamed Ali, founder of Modern Egypt in the center of the square since 1871 and was the first state to be mounted in a public square in a muslim city. Enjoy a standing breakfast of several items that the locals eat for breakfast including the most famous : Falafel and Fava beans. Having breakfast while standing in front of a cart. Later enjoy black tea with mint in a local cafe. Afterwards, transfer by air conditioned van to Marmina monastery.
This is a UNISCO world heritage and was dedicated to St. Markus (Mina) who was one of the important preachers that led to the spread of Christianity in early pagan time. You will spend time exploring the monastery, or feel free to buy some of the locally grown herbs, olive oil as well as honey. After the monastery visit, you will go to a Bedouin restaurant where you will get to watch the food preparation in the Bedouin way. After lunch, it is time to go to your accommodation for some rest. Before sunset, you will be moving in a toktok (3 wheeled transportation) to watch sunset by the Lake Mariout. Enjoy the calm and the surrounding of the lake. Bedouin BBQ dinner will be cooked by the lake while you are sitting in a private Bedouin tent arranged just for you.

After a delicious breakfast, enjoy a tour in a toktok , (the 3
wheeled transportation and used frequently by local). you will get to spend your time in the area where the local Bedouin tribe reside. Spend the whole morning exploring the market, the heart of Bedouin everyday life. Your cook instructor will help you buy the ingredients for your lunch which you will have in a local Bedouin house. Lunch is always followed by black tea in the Bedouin style.
Next we move to the Lake Mariout, where you can enjoying fishing or , kayaking in the lake or just hang around for a nice walk around the lake. You can also spend time with the fishermen by the lake and learn more about their daily activities.
Dinner will be served King Ranch’s hotel by the pool. Overnight in King Mariout

After breakfast, and getting a real flavor of Egypt’s history and the daily life for a week, it is time for your adventure in Egypt to come to an end. Our tour escort will be waiting for you at Hotel lobby and he will take you to Cairo Airport for Final Departure and he will assist you with immigration and customs.
