Arrival Day - Giza Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum
Egypt Day Tours representative will be waiting for you in the airport with sign your name on it he will make the paperwork easier for you then you will be transferred by an air-conditioned coach to start your Cairo city break tour.
Your first stop will be to visit the great Pyramids. It is the oldest monument of the ancient seven wonders and the only surviving one until today. Listen to your guide when he tells you about how the pyramids had been constructed with very old and simple techniques.
Pyramids were mainly built to house the remains of the deceased Pharaohs. you will explore the place deeper with your informative guide and know more about Egypt’s history and old Egyptian civilization. Next, head to a panoramic view of all three pyramids of Giza to capture amazing photos that will last forever.
Next, head to the greet sphinx that belongs to king pharaoh Khafra. It is a huge stone transformed into an amazing architectural statue. also, we will visit the Valley Temple. then up to the pyramids Panorama area to take snap photos with pyramids and sphinx in the background – don’t forget to bring your camera with you during this tour.
Once we are finished at the pyramids, we will make our way to the Egyptian Museum; The Egyptian Museum of Cairo contains 120,000 artifacts. It houses the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities. An extensive collection of papyrus, Greek, Roman, and Islamic coins used in the Ancient world are located on the 1st floor. The best statue you will see is the Gold Mask of Tutankhamun. The room also host the famous collection of the young king as well as a lot of sarcophagi from different dynasties. These sarcophagi give us a brief about how rich the owners were. Do not forget to have a loot at the Grave Mask of king Amenemope, Mummy mask of Psusennes I, Figurine of Khufu, Narmer Palette, and Merneptah Stele. Start your full-day tour by visiting Zoser Step Pyramid in Sakkara. It is considered the oldest pyramid ever built for king Djoser with its 6 rectangular bases. It was built as a burial ground during the old kingdom as an evolution from the normal standard mastabas for nobles. The step pyramid in Saqqara has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The second stop will be at the ancient city of Memphis, which was an important administrative and military center. Memphis was a regional center for commerce, trade, and religion. The ruins of ancient Memphis today offer fragmented evidence of its Glory past. Your guide will tell you the Legendary history of Memphis as retold by the Greek historian Herodotus. He said Alexander the Great was crowned as a pharaoh in the Temple of the creator god Ptah. The ruins of ancient Memphis have yielded the largest limestone statue of Rameses II Pharaoh. Afterward, On your way to the south, you will make the last stop to visit the Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid at Dahshur. Finally, relax on the coach ride back to your hotel where your tour ends at the start point. Overnight in Cairo.
