Day 3: Luxor East Bank Tour and Check-in to Cruise.

Snack up on breakfast and join our guide for another breathtaking excursion. Head to Cairo Airport and board a plane to the ancient city of Luxor. In this tour, we are heading to the Temples on the East Bank of the Nile.

Karnak Temple

Without wasting a minute, we’ll be on our way to the Karnak Temple – one of the largest religious buildings ever built by man. The three temples in this complex surround over 200 Acres with 134 columns and hieroglyphics describing the intricate belief systems of Pharaoh’s times.

Temple of Luxor

Later, we’ll be heading to the Temple of Luxor – mortuary of Egyptian Nobles. Here you will get to listen to the Theban Triad’s – Amun, Mut, and Khonsu – mesmerizing story. You will spend time roaming The Grand colonnade, Sun court of Amenhotep III, or the Obelisk of Ramses the second. But at the blue hour, just before dusk breaks across the sky, walk to the avenue of Sphinxes and ……… You will understand once you are there. We can’t put the view into words.

Take your time gazing at the temple and then join other passengers on the Nile Cruise in one of the most elusive vessels in Egypt. Overnight in your Nile Cruise.

Day 4: Tour to Luxor West Bank Attractions

Today, we’ll be heading to the attractions on the Western bank.

Valley of Kings.

Simply put, this is the LA (Los Angeles) of the dead-the tombs of almost all the famous Kings are here. From the tomb of Tutankhamun to Ramses II, it’s all there.

Hatshepsut’s Mortuary Temple.

The temple is in itself an architectural wonder, but what really adds to the story is Hatshepsut herself. She was the first female Pharaoh of Egypt, and she had herself depicted as a Man! She struggled for control against her son-in-law and died very mysteriously. Intriguing right?

Colossi of Memnon

Pharaoh Amenhotep tried building an immense tomb even in Egypt for himself, but earthquakes and floods decided otherwise. Fairly simple right? What is there to see then?
Two giant statues of Amenhotep seated facing the east still remain!
Here comes the fun part – the legend of Vocal Memnon. For thousands of years, famous tourists like Strabo and Juvena reported hearing sounds from the statues. Keep your ears to the ground and let us know if you hear anything.

Now, let’s head back to our boat for some food and a calm evening on the tranquil waters of the Nile.

Day 5: Tour to Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

We have covered quite a journey till now.
Guess where we are?
We have reached the shores of the Edfu and Kom Ombo temples!

Let’s do this one in style. Let’s ride in horse-driven carriages to the Edfu Temple.

Edfu Temple

It’s the best-preserved of all sites in Egypt. With illustrative hieroglyphics on its columns and walls, this might actually be the best place to spend a few minutes imagining what a day in Ancient Egypt looked like. Further, in the vicinity of the temple, you will find the much-preserved village of Edfu. Roam around the streets and enjoy haggling with the many shops selling tourist tat at the castle entrance.

Now, ride that carriage back to your boat, sail further upstream and dock at Kom Ombo in the city of Gold!

Temple of Kom Ombo

This temple has something very different in store for you.CROCODILE DEITIES!

Like all the pharaohs, the crocodiles have their statues and crowns and tombs as well. The Palace pays tribute to both the Pharaonic and the crocodilian deities worshipped in Ancient Egypt. And there’s a small but exciting crocodile museum as well. Make sure to snap some pictures with a few crocodile mummies!

Now we must head back to our boat and sail further up north to Aswan.

Day 6: Tour to Aswan Tourist Attractions

Here we are, at the gateway to Egypt since antiquity-Aswan.
This city, like Cairo, packs it all. Temples to Ancient Obelisks, botanical gardens to souks, you name it.

The Unnished Obelisk :

Remember Queen Hatshepsut?
She tried building the tallest obelisk ever, even for Egyptians. The single stone structure was being carved out of a single rock in ancient Egypt’s stone quarries when the story took a twist (ask our guide how), and the Obelisk remained unfinished.

Our next stop is Isis’s Philae Temple-house of the cult of Isis!

With influences from both the Romans and the Greeks, the island depicts Roman and Egyptian architecture’s intervening. Many dynasties and Pharaohs contributed their best efforts to add to the venerated site, and today we can see their illustrations on the various columns of the temples. Even Napoleon let the world know he was there. Take a few pictures in front of the Kiosk of Trajan and let your friends know you were here.

After this day-long foraging the not-so-ancient part of Egypt, we will return you to your sweet boat for the night!

Day 7: Tour to the Great Abu Simbel Temple

(Optional Tour to be reserved separately)

It’s been a week since you have been with us -and you are certainly impressed with the pyramids and temples but have you ever seen a temple carved out of a mountain?

Abu Simbel Temples

The temples are considered the grandest of Ramses IIs constructions and remained hidden through the ages under the sand. In the 19th century (ask our guide for the story), it was rediscovered, and excavations revealed the colossal structures. Many myths surround the two temples at Abu Simbel, but the most impressive is the temple’s alignment with the solar cycles. The statues inside the temple are illuminated by the sun on 22nd February and 22nd October every year to mark Pharaoh’s Ascension to throne and birthday. Impressed right?

Make sure to spend some time pondering over the story of Ramses and the temples.

A flight from the Aswan International Airport will be taking you to Cairo, and from the airport, we will transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 8: End Your Cairo and Nile Cruise Package

Your final day in Egypt will begin with a traditional Egyptian breakfast at your hotel.
After breakfast, we will take you to Cairo International Airport for your flight back home.
